At 11:00PM, on April 17, 2010, the Massachusetts Paranormal Institute began an investigation of the Scargo Café. Located in the village of Dennis, Massachusetts, the Scargo Café has a very long history as an upscale yet intimate dining establishment and was noted in Mark Jasper’s book, Haunted Cape Cod & the Islands.
While only a few haunting stories exist regarding Scargo Café, the owner feels uncomfortable at times in the large business office located upstairs and a few employees have felt uneasy.
The MPI Team assembled for this investigation consisted of Lead Investigator Elizabeth Lyons, Case manager and EVP Researcher Connie Boulos, EVP Researchers; Michael J. Balch, Christine Balch, Tina Correira and Lead Investigator Dave Sircom. Breaking into smaller groups, with Team A on the 2nd floor, and Team B on the 1st floor and Team C in the basement, the investigation began. Positions were rotated on the hour to allow each team at least one opportunity in each area of the building.
After explaining the Teams will contact each other every thirty minutes by cell phone, a spirit replies:
"BIGBEN"
At one point in the investigation several strange and unrecognizable noises were heard that were attributed to the heating system and at the end an unseen spirit offers to help.
"IF YOU NEED HELP..."
An Investigator asks if any unseen inhabitants are happy we are there. One replies:
"I AM ...NOT HAPPY....ABOUT THIS"
While conducting an EVP session in the upstairs business office, the entire team heard music coming directly from the adjacent hallway:
UNEXPLAINED MUSIC
A staionary microphone was left on the bar all night. You can hear team members speaking in the background and at the very end of the recording, if you listen closely, you can hear an entity say:
'THEY'RE ONTO US"
Connie, our Case Manager, and EVP Researcher Tina, are twins. While conducting an EVP session together they received this response from an astute spirit.
"IT'S TWO SISTERS"
While walking through the kitchen island with our recorders "ON", a husky voiced entity gives his recommendation with:
'THE ISLAND'S CLEAN"
